Re: HYPOGEUM II cover
I think it is open to various interpretations. I like to think of it as the landmark of an ancient temple seen from the sky. Only visible from the sky, actually.

Re: HYPOGEUM II cover
It reminds me of a prehistoric earthwork built of walls and with entrances which are ordered in strict order depending of the cardinal directions..
Re: HYPOGEUM II cover
The Stonehenge link was straight away clear to me, having a background as a Druid for 10 years.

In consequence to Artaud's post in this thread...

Re: HYPOGEUM II cover
Thats right, but there is an alignement in Saxony, Germany, which has the same age..Goseck! Its about 7000 B.C.
Re: HYPOGEUM II cover
Yes, Goseck in Germany is a very interesting case. Archeologists have also discovered traces of ritual fires as well as remainings of human skeletons there. A ritual sacrifice perhaps? The past holds its secrets...

Congratulation C13! You cracked the first code.
Here is another one: Listen to Civilisation One? What sound or noise you can hear at the beginning?

Re: HYPOGEUM II cover
I think it is possible that the sound was created in a Hypogeum. There you can find these particular noises... these vibrations.
That reminds me of an interesting website ... The Temple Project
Edit: At this website you can find a sound sample of voices recorded at the Hypogeum in Malta, too.

My guess would be the sound of resonating frequencies from chanting in an acoustically shaped megalith or structure (such as stonehenge) which produced low alpha waves that helped induce altered states of consciousness that are conducive to astral transcendence. Perhaps creating an inter-dimensional portal...
I'm fascinated with binaural beats, flicker stimulation and resonation in general which may be tainting my perception a bit.
Re: HYPOGEUM II cover
My thought would be what Marlene suggested but considering the theme of the album, C13 has a point there...

Re: HYPOGEUM II cover
The Oracle Room in the Hypogeum is roughly rectangular and one of the smallest side chambers has the peculiarity of producing a powerful acoustic resonance from any vocalization made inside it. In this room i had the opportunity to record some original voice and sound reflexions.

Thanks for the tip Tetragrammaton. The NUNS do everything with such profundity.

At which place did you do this Artaud? Needless to say that the sound vibration can be felt when listening to the album! That's what makes the Nuns so special to me, the combination of old cultures, occult knowledge AND practice... there's so many bands just jumping on the bandwagon copying or using an imago that is just a thin layer. The NUNHOOD is the real thing... glad to be a part of it! Looking forward to our meeting in Berlin! Have a great weekend.

I found it interesting that if intentional or not, the outer ring areas are missing where a clock's hands would indicate 1 and 28 (maybe the 1/28 release date?).
Also, to expand on what c13 has said - in most serious esoteric mystery schools, vibration is everything. The physics of vibraturgy are the reclaiming of the science of the first people.
